Radcliffe Camera, Oxford, Great Britain

The Radcliffe Camera (Camera is the Latin word for room) in Radcliffe square (Oxford, England) was built by James Gibbs between 1737 and 1749 to house the Radcliffe Science Library. The building was funded by a bequest from Physician and former Oxford scholar Dr. John Radcliffe by John Radcliffe, who died in 1714, and it was Nicholas Hawksmoor who came up with the idea of making the building round. I have also some shots from the other side of the square showing the church which I'll post later on!
